Romans 5:8 But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

The Little Moments

Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

I sometimes struggle to write, and feel like everything I post has to be deep and powerful. That if I don’t deliver a strong message, it won’t move anyone. He quickly reminded me sometimes we (me) need to stop and appreciate the little moments He’s in too. Those are impactful as well, and sometimes even more meaningful. We believers KNOW God is a miracle worker, and sometimes we expect that all the time. Some big display, a miraculous encounter, a prophetic dream, the list goes on. But those little moments where no one else knows what’s going on in our hearts and minds? That is the perfect moment for God to remind us how much He loves us and how He really is a Father that sees His children. I like to reminisce on a sweet moment that I call the “grape incident.” Anyone who knows me knows I love fruit, but certain kinds, like dried mangos, and bananas still with some green on them. My favorite, though, are these huge crunchy green grapes that usually bulk stores like Sam’s Club and Costco sell. One day I was really craving them and since I needed to grocery shop anyways, I decided to drive over to Sam’s Club. I went to the refrigerator section where they carry all their grapes, and was disappointed to see they didn’t have them. They had every other type of grape there, but not the ones I wanted. I even checked some of the boxes they were unloading and didn’t see them. It was a bummer, but I didn’t think too much on it and continued grocery shopping. When I was done I got into line and stood there a few seconds before I felt a weird nudge to go into the next line over. Weird, but ok? Move to the next line, which took longer to get through, but it is what it is. I get up to the cash register to pay and watch as the lady scans my items and sends them down to be put into my cart. As I’m grabbing groceries I notice the man ahead of me had put some stuff back, and would you believe it, one of the items he left behind were the big crunchy green grapes! I grabbed them and asked if she could add these as well if he didn’t plan on coming back for them. After leaving I sat in my car eating my grapes and may or may not have cried thanking God. To some it may seem silly, but it just really showed me how much He cares. I remember sitting there smiling and coming to the realization that I really am his daughter. As a mom myself, there is nothing more important than being able to make sure my kids feel seen. My grape incident really put it into perspective for me that I’m not just some random person He created because He was bored, or some accident, but that I’m important in the eyes of my Father. There are so many other incidents where God has showed up in my life, but this one will always be a favorite. I’d love to go into this new year reading your sweet little moments with our Heavenly Father, so please feel free to comment your own experiences! God bless you all!

I call those God-incidences and they happen all day long. I remember you telling me the story of the grapes and it’s not silly and I can relate. God is so good and yes, we are his children and yes, He loves us so much. I am so happy you KNOW Jesus. IN THESE DAYS, THERE IS NO WHERE ELSE TO RUN, EXCEPT INTO THE ARMS OF OUR LOVING FATHER
